Usually when we’re discussing saving time it’s in relation to cooking human food. But there’s also a huge time-saving factor when we’re trying to keep our beloved pets healthy. That’s where The Farmer’s Dog comes in.
I lost my Flower to “the Big C.” (#dogcancersucks) You can read more about that here. Throughout the experience, I learned so much about our dogs’ diets and what we feed them. Honestly, it was frightening. Between the subpar ingredients, the overseas manufacturing, and the chemical cooking processes; it’s a wonder any of our pets AVOID dying of cancer. I found myself in Costco one day, walking around with a calculator, adding up the cost of making Flower’s food myself. Aside from the time factor alone, even at Costco, to feed a dog of Flower’s size with any sort of higher-quality food; would have cost me upwards of $100-$200/week. Now, I can easily spend that at Costco, but I have to say, I’ve never done it just for my dog. I’m a good dog mom, but I’d never been that good.
