After the rebrand of THD, we started focusing much more on natural, whole-life living, which includes a deep connection to the Law of Attraction and its effect on our lives. One of the biggest parts of applying the LOA to your life is the practice of constant, daily gratitude. The New Year is always a time of reflection and planning for our next steps in life. We create resolutions, reflect on past successes and hurts, and plan for the rejuvenation that the change in our calendars gives us. Because of all of this, New Years’ Eve seems a good time to recommit to my daily gratitude practice. For me, that means my Erin Condren LifePlanner is my sidekick for the next year.
Gratitude – A Way to Improve Your Life
The study and practice of the Success Principles and the Law of Attraction has been my focus for the last several years. And it’s amazing how much this stuff works! My life has changed dramatically for the better–even though I had an amazing life before. These studies include an active, daily gratitude practice. And I have to say, it’s changed my life.
Daily Gratitude
Gratitude is one of those things that you think you’re participating in until you make a concerted effort to do so. But the more you concentrate on being grateful, the more grateful you become on a daily basis. Writing down everything you’re grateful for either at the beginning or the end of the day reminds you how lucky you are. And what I’ve noticed about that is the luckier you feel, the luckier you become.
“Luck” has been a loaded word in my life. I’ve always figured myself “lucky.” Nevermind all the hard work and commitment to success that I’ve made. I always had the attitude that I just “fell into” all the blessings I worked for and received.
But in applying this daily gratitude practice, I realized how “luck” is a combination of so many things! Luck is how you perceive your life. It’s how you live your life. It’s the amount of work you put in and the gratitude you put out. Luck is the language you use to refer to yourself and your situation.
A daily gratitude practice reminds you to be thankful for the “luck” you have created in your life. Because the second you are thankful for something, the Universe is reminded that you want to keep it around. It understands that what it’s giving you is what is desired.
Gratitude for What’s to Come
The next step in a practice of gratitude is to be thankful for the things you know are coming to you. Before you start this practice, it can feel silly and counter-productive. The act of being grateful for something that doesn’t exist yet can feel phony. But really, if you think it through, it makes total sense. If the Universe is prone to giving you more of what you’re grateful for, of course it will hand you the things you express gratitude for–even if they don’t exist yet.
That being said, who knows which day of gratitude will be the one the universe awards you with your soul mate? Or that promotion at work… Or the financial stability you’ve been striving for. But I’ll tell you what, if the Universe likes to see my gratitude in order to hand me the things I want, I’m going to be prepared for receiving my successes by starting every day like that’s the day. And every day, I know that my gratitude is making my life better. I’m creating my own existence, and that existence looks amazing.
The Best Planner Yet
When I first started this practice, I had a hard time keeping a steady habit of writing down my gratitude daily. This was because I didn’t have a place to write it.
