Bar Review – Sushi Pier 2
For those of you who don’t know, I am a lawyer by day. When we were in law school, every Thursday night was “Bar Review.” Now, as a very new first year, this was a terrifying concept. The Bar Exam is probably the most miserable, difficult test I have ever faced in my entire life. So when I saw that there was a Bar Review every Thursday during school, you could understand why I thought “We seriously have to start studying for this monster now???” Well, as you might have guessed, Thursday night Bar Review was a play on words and was not, in fact, extra study time. It was a “Review” of a different bar in the city every week. Basically a time where all of us got together to blow off steam and meet and mingle. Often, these were nights where we simply drank too much, but in spite of that, I met some of my best friends from law school at Thursday Bar Review.
In that spirit, and because dating and eating is usually done out (at least at first), I’ve decided that I’m going to restart the tradition with an actual Thursday review of a different bar or restaurant every week.
I read an article recently that said sushi is the second or third date thing. I suppose that’s because fish can be touchy–not everyone likes it–and because it can sometimes be messy. But if you ask me, sushi is something to eat any time. I have liked sushi for my whole life, and when you live in Reno, Nevada, you’re lucky enough to have access to really good All-You-Can-Eat Sushi….
