Here in Reno we are so fortunate to have a wonderful oil and vinegar store called Big Horn Oil company. They offer some of the best natural flavored oils and vinegars I have ever tasted. They are so good, that you all have probably noticed many of The Hungry Dater recipes include different flavors of these oils and vinegars. The most markable are the brined turkey found here and Reno’s famous Kale salad here.

So, one of MY more favorite recipes on here lately are these homemade flavored seltzer waters. I love the flavored soda waters available today. But I don’t love the trash and the potentially unnatural flavors so I decided to start making my own in order to avoid both those things.  My recipe is here.

So, I know it seems strange to give away a “diet” book around the holiday season, but that’s just the thing about this book: It really isn’t a diet book. This is a book on how to QUIT dieting and how to continue being healthy while still “indulging” when it’s appropriate.

The book “Intuitive Eating” is actually a wonderful book for the holiday season because there’s an argument that every healthy “diet” has a place for the occasional indulgence!

Word to the wise: Win this one for you. Whether it’s a “non-diet” book or not, any “diet” book under the tree is likely to be taken as an insulting Christmas or Hanukkah gift. Unless of course someone knows how cool this book is and asks for it. Lol. Happy Day 7!

So no foodie lovers’ Christmas tree would be complete without a copy of “Intercourses” — and this one’s signed!

When I first saw this book in the cooking section of a bookstore (remember those???), I picked it up only because of the beautiful cover. I had no idea the contents. The book’s photographic art is so lovely that that part of it alone would make it a worth while coffee table book. Though, once I looked at it closer, I realized if you had a super conservative, but ultra nosy relative coming over, perhaps the coffee table isn’t the best place for it.  Lol.

Why? Because not only is Intercourses a beautiful display of nude art centering around food, but it’s also an entire cookbook dedicated to aphrodisiacs! So, Daters, if you’re in a new relationship, looking to spice up an old relationship, or looking forward to the day you DO find love, this book is for you!

Good morning, Daters! And the happiest of holiday seasons to you! This has been a busy one for me as the 12 Days of Giveaways is ACTUALLY happening on time this year! I don’t know if any of you remember, but last year it happened in January (blagh) because my old hosting company lost my. Entire. Site. And I couldn’t get anything posted for those 12 days! This year, we’re on track for all 12 days to be IN December. Not only that, but we’ll have our regular number of posts, AND Hungry Dater and Kilt and Cork have collaborated this year to bring you the 12 Days of Cocktails starting the day after the Giveaways!
