Here at the The Hungry Dater, we love our cocktails. We generally do one every month. We’re constantly on the lookout for stellar liquors to support our amazing cocktail recipes.

One of our favorites is Tahoe Blue Vodka. Smooth, drinkable, and wonderful; it’s seriously one of the best vodkas I’ve ever tasted. Vodka is one of those things I used to think wasn’t really good or bad, you just had to put things in it. Tahoe Blue proved me wrong. This is a vodka you can drink straight up and truly enjoy.

Here in Reno we are so fortunate to have a wonderful oil and vinegar store called Big Horn Oil company. They offer some of the best natural flavored oils and vinegars I have ever tasted. They are so good, that you all have probably noticed many of The Hungry Dater recipes include different flavors of these oils and vinegars. The most markable are the brined turkey found here and Reno’s famous Kale salad here.

So, one of MY more favorite recipes on here lately are these homemade flavored seltzer waters. I love the flavored soda waters available today. But I don’t love the trash and the potentially unnatural flavors so I decided to start making my own in order to avoid both those things.  My recipe is here.

So, I know it seems strange to give away a “diet” book around the holiday season, but that’s just the thing about this book: It really isn’t a diet book. This is a book on how to QUIT dieting and how to continue being healthy while still “indulging” when it’s appropriate.

The book “Intuitive Eating” is actually a wonderful book for the holiday season because there’s an argument that every healthy “diet” has a place for the occasional indulgence!

Word to the wise: Win this one for you. Whether it’s a “non-diet” book or not, any “diet” book under the tree is likely to be taken as an insulting Christmas or Hanukkah gift. Unless of course someone knows how cool this book is and asks for it. Lol. Happy Day 7!
